Murder in Greyfriars (2005)

This is a 16 page A5 book by The Robert the Bruce Commemoration Trust. It is “The Bruce Story”, and intriguing tale of patriotism for King Robert the Bruce’s country or personal ambition to achieve the Scottish throne. There are sections on Murder in Greyfriars (the killing of Sir John “Red” Comyn at Greyfriards Kirk, Dumfries); Who were the Bruces?; Striking the first blow; Uneasy Guardianship; Steps to the Throne; Turning the tide; and The King at peace. Also included are family trees and it also highlights places of interest throughout Dumfries and Galloway.

The book was written by Sarah Crome and Doug Archibald.
